Each seating position is fitted with an Audio-Technica gooseneck microphone, supported by a ceiling mic to ensure complete audio capture coverage throughout the room. Two AVer PTZ tracking cameras provide high-resolution video capture.
The system in the courtroom space is built using Extron NAV encoders and scaling decoders, allowing high-quality, low-latency transmission of audio and video and giving tutors the ability to record, monitor or switch content on demand.

A retractable 98" Euroscreen electric projection screen and Panasonic laser projector provide the room’s main visual content, with a 75" LG display mounted to a portable trolley at the rear of the room for secondary content or as a comfort monitor for those at the front. Extron ceiling speakers ensure audio is evenly distributed throughout, driven by a DSP matrix.
Adjacent to the courtroom are mock holding cells and a reception area to extend the realism of courtroom scenarios and allow the faculty to curate full simulation exercises. In the reception, a 49" LG display presents a real-time multi-room view with live feeds displayed from the various AV and CCTV sources.

A central control room houses the AV equipment along with a dedicated IP-based CCTV system. This includes an 8-channel OYN-X Eagle NVR, linked to four 8MP turret cameras for secure video capture. A dedicated iiyama monitor allows operators to observe and monitor the different spaces in the facility in real time.
The two interview rooms function as stand-alone Microsoft Teams Rooms with a similar set up to the building’s other meeting rooms. Each room is fitted with a Poly Studio R30 video bar, GC8 touch panel for meeting control, Extron ceiling speaker, and a 43" LG display.
Working together, these practical spaces support a range of hands-on learning situations for legal, criminology and policing students to work symbiotically. The AV setup here provides a high-performance in-room experience, as well as remote observation capability and secure recording within a realistic and reliable learning environment. Complemented by its AV system to aid learning, the facilities on offer for current and prospective new students help the University continue to stand out as a leading destination for criminology, law and policing.
